The world’s population is constantly increasing, to accommodate everyone, we need to build modern, sustainable cities. And for all of us to survive and prosper, we need new, intelligent urban planning that creates safe, affordable and resilient cities with green and culturally inspiring living conditions; by providing safe and affordable housing, affordable and sustainable transport systems, protecting the world’s cultural and natural heritage, reducing the adverse effects of natural disasters and environmental impact on cities, providing access to safe and public spaces for all.

Al-Quds University is committed to promoting sustainable urban development and building resilient communities, recognizing their importance in achieving social equity, environmental sustainability, and overall well-being. The university contributes to SDG 11 through various means:

Education in Urban Planning, Architecture, and Environmental Sciences: Al-Quds University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in urban planning, architecture, and environmental sciences, providing students with the knowledge and skills needed to develop and implement sustainable urban development solutions. These programs focus on topics such as sustainable urban design, resource-efficient infrastructure, and community resilience, preparing students for careers in various sectors.
