Al-Quds University’s Community Outreach Initiatives

Alongside its educational services, Al-Quds University participates actively in promoting the health and wellbeing of the community. We take pride in the many outreach initiatives and projects in the local community, many of which involve student volunteering. The projects address diverse topics related to health and wellbeing. They include hygiene, nutrition, family planning, physical fitness, exercise, aging and aging well, and many more.

Programs on Hygiene and Nutrition

Recognizing the critical role hygiene and nutrition play in health, the University seeks to address these issues in outreach activities. Part of the outreach program to local communities includes workshops and seminars on the fundamentals of personal hygiene, the importance of a well-balanced diet, and methods of maintaining nutritional health on budgets. Students, especially those in the health faculties, take active leadership roles in these initiatives, providing practical guidance and support.

Family Planning and Reproductive Health

Reproductive health and family planning are core components of community health and are served at Al-Quds University through counseling and information sessions. In conjunction with local health clinics and professionals, our programs prepare participants with the knowledge necessary for effective family planning, maternal health, and reproductive rights, enabling them to take control of their reproductive health.

Promotion of Sports and Exercise

Extending our outreach to encourage community participation in healthy and active lifestyles includes the organization of sports events, fitness workshops, and exercise classes. These structures provide opportunity for community members of all ages and backgrounds to improve their physical fitness and children and adults to build social bonds.

Well Aging Programs

Al-Quds University seeks to improve the quality of life and health in later years through programs which includes seminars on healthy aging, activities for the elderly, and advocacy for aged-related health issues. Our programs address the physical, cognitive, and social dimensions of aged community members in a synergistic manner.

Student Volunteering Programs

Involvement through our student volunteering program is the cornerstone of all these activities. With excitement and unique outlooks, our students show an earnest willingness to serve the community. They earn and devise hands-on experience through the planning and execution of several health and wellbeing projects. This conjunction of service and learning is of great value.

The health and wellbeing activities of Al-Quds University expands well beyond the boundaries of our University. Our health and wellbeing outreach activities involved community health and wellbeing. These activities are aligned with our commitment and self-identification as a service-oriented University.
