Enhancing Student Wellbeing - Sexual and Reproductive Health Services at Al-Quds University

Al-Quds University recognizes the vital importance of sexual and reproductive health services as a right and a necessary dimension of student wellbeing. We seek to provide a safe and informed environment in which students may be empowered to undertake and manage their reproductive health safely and unapologetically.

🔹 Our Commitment

Our health centers and community outreach programs provide students with confidential, free, and culturally competent reproductive health services and community programs, and we welcome students of all gender identities and backgrounds.

🔹 Services Offered

On-Campus Medical Consultations

University clinics provide private consultations with trained and experienced professionals in reproductive and sexual health services. These include counseling and care for contraception, assistance to manage menstrual health, STI screenings, and reproductive health counseling.

🔹 Health Education & Awareness Programs

In partnership with the Faculty of Public Health, we provide interactive workshops and lectures on:

  • Contraceptive methods and safe practices
  • STI Prevention & Screening
  • Consent, healthy relationships, and bodily autonomy
  • Menstrual health and hygiene

🔹 Youth-Friendly Health Campaigns

Every so often, we sponsor a health promotion campaign, focusing on a relevant health issue and providing supportive messaging and materials. Campaigns, such as “Reproductive Health Week,” provide resource booths, student-led Q&A sessions, and digital promotion materials. We strive to foster openness and diminish stigma around conversations regarding health.

🔹 Printed and Digital Resources

Teaching resources are developed in Arabic and English, ensuring inclusive and contextually relevant evidence-based resource materials that attend to the social realities of Palestinians.

🔹 Referral Pathways

Those students who need specialized care are referred to partner entity hospitals and NGOs who provide integrated reproductive health services.

🔹 Community Engagement

Al-Quds University students and faculty also teach and provide services in the underserved communities and focus on the strengthening of reproductive rights, maternal health, and the prevention of gender-based violence.

Al-Quds University is the first to provide comprehensive health services on campus and empowers students to take informed and supported health-related decisions.
